Let's appreciate the early 2000s Pinoy rap culture and aesthetic. The days when rap music were common to have a beautiful love song vocals for the chorus, was wholesome and rappers did not require vocal prowess, but instead focused on lyrics, rhythm and flow.
Panaginip is a song which is a product of the Eat Bulaga Segment : Rappublic of the Philippines. The Crazy as Pinoy, Lorivino Deyb Ignacio (aka. Bassilyo) Jeffrey C. Pillen (aka Crispin) and Muriel Anne F. Jamito (aka Sisa)
joined the competition hosted by the late Francis Magalona in 2002, with Panaginip as their song for the finals. Being finalists, their hitsong made to the album Rappublic of the Philippines Vol. 1 (2003), which is 20 yrs ago!
Ahhh... nostalgia...
The intro, which is now attached to the identity of the song, contains a scratchy audio from the tv show with Andrew E or Francis M's voice (can't confirm who) with the song Always on Time by Ja rule and Ashanti (staple artists in the rap culture at the time.)
The same intro was reused in their recent live remake on the wish bus which you can watch here.
