Psalms 145:18 (KJV) The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
When we call on God in truth, He promises to be near. But what does it mean to call on Him in truth? We come to God seeking Him as He is, not as we simply want Him to be. God has revealed Himself in Jesus, who is the Truth. And He has given us the truth of His word so that we may know Him and call on Him.
Lord, in my selfishness and pride, I sometimes forget that You are God and I am not. Thank You for revealing to me, through Jesus and through Your word, who You really are. I come before You with humility and in worship, desiring to know You better so that I may dwell freely in the power of Your truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
