Hello guys I'm currently on windows 10 and would like to upgrade to windows 11, can i upgrade to windows 11 without losing data?

Hello! Yes, it is possible to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 without losing your data. Microsoft has defined the upgrade process as a seamless one that allows you to keep all your files, applications, and settings intact.

However, it is always recommended to perform a backup of your important data before proceeding with any major operating system upgrade, just to be on the safe side. This way, if anything unexpected happens during the upgrade process, you will have a copy of your data as a precaution.

To upgrade to Windows 11, you will need to meet the minimum system requirements specified by Microsoft. These requirements include a compatible processor, sufficient memory (RAM), and a certain amount of free storage space. You can check Microsoft's official website or use the PC Health Check tool to verify if your system is eligible for the upgrade.

Once your system is eligible, you can either wait for the official Windows 11 upgrade rollout or join the Windows Insider Program to get early access to preview builds. When the upgrade is available, you will receive a notification or you can manually check for updates in your Windows 10 settings.

Before proceeding with the upgrade, make sure your system is up to date with the latest Windows 10 updates. This will help ensure a smoother transition to Windows 11.

During the upgrade process, your files, applications, and settings will be preserved. However, it is still important to have a backup as mentioned earlier, just in case any unforeseen issues arise during the upgrade.

Remember to read the release notes and system requirements for Windows 11 to ensure a successful upgrade. If you have any doubts or concerns, it's always recommended to consult with Microsoft's official documentation or seek assistance from their support channels.

1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
2. Click Check for Updates.
3. Look for Feature update to Windows 11.
