Hello, im trying to switch on linux or install second os, pwede po malaman ano ang mga disadvantage at advantage nila? Based sa pag gamit niyo po, or ano ang inyong masasabi. Other question po is. Medyo stable siya sa programming? And gaming?

Hello! I'd be happy to share my insights on the advantages and disadvantages of Linux and Windows based on my experience.

Advantages of Linux:
1. Open Source: Linux is open-source, meaning the source code is freely available, which fosters a large community of developers constantly improving the system.
2. Customization: Linux offers a high level of customization, allowing users to tailor their operating system to their specific needs and preferences.
3. Security: Linux is known for its strong security features, with fewer malware and viruses targeting the OS compared to Windows.
4. Stability: Linux is renowned for its stability, rarely requiring reboots even after system updates.
5. Performance: Linux is lightweight and can run efficiently on older hardware, providing better performance in some cases.

Disadvantages of Linux:
1. Compatibility: Some software and hardware may not be fully compatible with Linux, though this gap has significantly decreased over the years.
2. User-Friendly: Linux can have a steeper learning curve compared to Windows for beginners, especially if you are not familiar with the command line interface.
3. Gaming: While Linux gaming has improved with platforms like Steam for Linux, the gaming library is still more extensive on Windows.

In terms of stability for programming, Linux is a preferred choice by many developers. The robust terminal, vast array of development tools, and support for various programming languages make it an excellent platform for software development.

For gaming, Windows historically has had better support due to a larger selection of games being developed for the platform. However, with advancements in compatibility layers like Proton for running Windows games on Linux, gaming on Linux has improved significantly and continues to expand.

Ultimately, the choice between Linux and Windows depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you value customization, security, and stability, Linux might be a great choice. However, if gaming and compatibility with a wide range of software are crucial to you, Windows might be the better option. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions or need further clarification!

Pag beginner ka start ka sa Windows, okay naman sa madali nalang sa gaming at programming nandoon na agad sa compability and speed, pero sa ram talaga ang talo paglumalaki. For Linux pag gusto mong working pc pa, alamin muna about sa flavor mga linux mas bet mo. and of course matipid din sa memory.

Hmm wala naman problem sa specs sir, i have ryzen 7 2600x then 32gm ram vengeance, gpu 1660 super 6gb. I think kaya naman ihandle sk linux, pero my problem is wala ako idea kay linux, okay okay naman na ko siguro kay windows. Ilang taon din ako jan since 2013 pero ang naabutan at nasubukan ko lang ay windows xp, then jump sa windows 7 to 10 then 11.

Well depends sayo parin kung para or kung saan mo gagamit ;)
Thankyou so much sa answer sir. Take care

you can do what you want sa linux. but stick to windows when it comes to gaming.
ang cons mo lng sa linux is ang mga common programs like adobe. meron silang sariling tools.
you can try adding windows apps using wine and play games using proton. but i dont see the point of it. when you can directly use windows and save you the trouble of configurations and troubleshooting.

if you still want to try, then i suggest you start in Linux Mint. parang windows lng din cya.

wala na naman problems when it comes to linux except when you use productivity tools such as adobe apps at games with intrusive anticheats (valorant for ex.).

start with LinuxMint or PopOS if u want to try linux po.

maganda sa Linux wala kasamang bloatware na pampabagal ng computer (unlike sa Windows na bawat galaw nagssend ng data sa servers nila to optimize their OS and sell your data to advertisers)
