Malgorzata Chodakowska, a sculptor from Poland, creates unbelievable fountains, which are unique in the way that water and bronze complement each other to create something beautiful. First, she carves the sculpture from wood. At this stage it’s difficult to imagine how a huge piece of wood could ever be turned into an elegant female figure. But gradually, layer by layer, Malgorzata cuts away until she produces her goal — and it’s a truly incredible sight.

To turn the sculpture into a fountain, the wooden figures are cast in bronze. Malgorzata then uses her imagination to decide how best to have the water emerge from the sculpture. So, an ordinary figure becomes an angel when the gushing stream is made to form two elegant wings.
