WHAT’S SO AMAZING ON THE FIRST CHRISTMAS?

Whether one chooses to celebrate Christmas or not, no one can deny that the birth of Christ is worth celebrating. Noong unang Pasko, naganap ang pangyayari na hindi na kailan pa mauulit sa kasaysayan. What’s worth commemorating on the first Christmas? Here are three of the most significant truths we should remember in this season:
PROMISE FULFILLED
On the first Christmas eve, God finally fulfilled His much-awaited promise. In-announce ang pagdating ng Tagapagligtas sa Eden (Gen 3:15). Lumipas ang mahabang panahon, pinangakuan din si Abraham na sa pamamamagitan ng kanyang lahi pagpapalain ang lahat ng mga bansa (Gen 22:18). Later on, David was also given a promise of an eternal kingdom (2 Sam 7:16). Paulit-ulit din na pinapamalita ng mga propeta ang pagdating ng Messiah. The waiting finally came to an end when the Promised Child was born. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son,” (Gal 4:4).
GOD REVEALED
On the first Christmas, God became one of us. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, ” (Jn 1:14). Sa pambihirang pagkakataon, pinakilala at nilapit ng Diyos ang sarili Niya sa tao —sa pamamagitan ng Anak na imahe ng Diyos na hindi nakikita (Col 1:15; Jn 14:9). When Christ was born, the Almighty made Himself known to us. Sa gabing iyon, nakapiling ng tao ang Diyos. “Look! The ****** will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” (Matt 1:23).
SINNERS REDEEMED
On the first Christmas, God provided the way for sinners to be saved. Christ came as the gift out of God’s love for humanity (Jn 3:16). Noong unang Pasko, makikita natin kung paanong nagpakababa ang Diyos para lang abutin ang tao. He did it not because we deserve it, but because He is rich in mercy! Sa tahimik na gabi, dumating sa sabsaban ng Bethlehem ang kaligtasan.The Savior came to the world to seek the lost and save them (Lk 19:10; 1 Tim 1:15).

Noong unang Pasko, pinatunayan ng Diyos ang Kanyang katapatan sa Kanyang pangako. Pinakita rin Niya ang pag-ibig Niya sa lahat. On the first Christmas, love came down. For the Savior, "who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim 2:4), has come for you and for me.
