May naexperience kasi ako dati, nung nagpakabit kami ng internet, yung promised speed is 2Mbps. It was a trap, at nahuli niya ako dun.

So yep. Mega is yung conversion para mapaliit yung value nung speed, 10^6 or 1,000,000. Medyo nahihirapan ako mag explain banda dito XD

Kapag:

2 Megabits per Second = 2 Mb/s

Convert natin sa bits lang:

2 * (1,000,000) bits per Second = 2,000,000 b/s

Para maconvert natin siya sa Kilobytes per second, kailangan natin siya i divide by 8 kasi 8 Bits = 1 Byte, and to convert siya sa Kilobyes ididivide ulit natin siya sa Unit ng Kilo in Binary terms, 1024.

2,000,000 b/s / 8 b = 250,000 / s [Tanggalin na natin yung bits kasi divided na po. ]

250,000 /s / 1024 B = 244.140625 [Dito gamit na natin Capital B kasi Bytes na.]

And andito na tayo. Yung promised speed sakin na 2Mbps is actually 244.140625.

Internet Speed(2Mbps) times 1,000,000 divided by 8 divided by 1024 = Max Download Speed.

Thanks and have a good day!

my plan is 50/20Mbps

The technical truth:

its up to 2mbps. with 80% reliability

Here's why 80% only

These are what constitutes your speed

Noise Margin, Attenuation, Loop Length, Technology Provided

High Attentuation like 30dB UP. very bad connection
Higher Noise Margin 30dB UP very good connection
Loop Length. The length from your NID to the Facility.

within the length is where the Signal to Noise Margin and Line Attentuation resides.

the other 20% is for interference which are the packet losses.

May nakita kasi akong ads ng Globe, naka all caps yung MBPS nila, so yep.

misleading lang yun o talagang marketing strategies ngnmga telco isp,, butbi never been read speed plan that goes with megabyte calculation,, all is megabits,, ganyan talaga makapag promote lang

Yep.

May ganon ba? O sira yung connection dito sa amin.

if naka all caps yung MBPS. megabytes yan.

if up to 2MBPS ang offer sa area. thats the highest speed i think for ADSL/2 type of connection. so roughly aroung 15 to 20Mbps speed yan

No experience with PLDT ts. Tas pala nakacap yung Speed namin, which is 2Mbps lang.
