And this happened just recently:
MANILA, Philippines — A bettor from Imus, Cavite and another in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu will share the jackpot, minus a 20 percent tax, in the Super Lotto 6/49 drawn on Tuesday night.

The bettors guessed the winning numbers 12-05-01-30-09-14, which had a total jackpot of P31,725,228.

Eighty-two other bettors, who guessed five of the winning numbers, each won P50,000.

Since June 28, Megalotto ticket sold was approximately 8.4M. Odds of winning is 1 to 8.1M. So pasok sa banga ang pagka panalo.

Every week na lang may nananalo. Halatang halata na.

Let's see: since last 12 months, Jackpots were hit 73 times:

  • 21 in Lotto
  • 18 in MegaLotto
  • 15 in SuperLotto
  • 13 in GrandLotto, and
  • 6 in UltraLotto.
All 73 or about 1.4 Jackpot Hit per Week.

Expected Jackpot Hit per Year is 58.1 or about 1.1 Jackpot Hit per Week based on probability and numbers of ticket sold. So pasok pa rin na puwedeng puwede may manalo every week.

Approx Ave Ticket Sold per Day is 2.6 M. That's P20 x 2.6M = P52M per Day.

On that P52M per Day:

  • 7.5% went to all the PCSO agent outlets
  • 14.7% went to the Consolation Prizes, and only
  • 23.1% went to the Jackpot Ante
  • Leaving 54.7% or (P28.4M per Day) to the PCSO operation expenses ( or P853M per month)
The Jackpot Antes are also split:

  • 1% (max P1M) goes to the Outlet that sold the winning ticket.
  • 20% of the Jackpot goes to Gov as Tax (P12M per Day) or (P358M per month)
In the end, the bettor who won the Jackpot got about only 18% of the total ticket sold revenue.
