...It all started with Deepfake technology or "synthetic media" back in 2014, using deep learning, producing computer generated images. Noong 2017-2019, lumabas na yung fake images sa Reddit mismo, like fake audio, fake videos in all forms. It all became easy when OpenAI introduced ChatGPT which paved the way for pther forms of generative AI to develop and spread in all branches you can think of - including generating virtual media like it's the real thing. Open-source yan kaya easily available to use and manipulate, and in the same way widespread online as a form of service like APIs. Kaya nga nag-boom yung "virtual influencers" last year using this technology. So everything you see, the people you meet, talk or hear may not be actually real. That is the consequence!
Kaya mag-ingat kayo (keep things private/secured AMAP) sa mga maaaring manamantala in any form. This AI technology is easily available and some people are tempted to use it illegally to earn money at the expense of victimizing people without their knowledge. You don't know how, what, when and where it will happen.
Sa bawat technology, kasama lagi ang self-awareness, and anyone need to remember this logic at all times - the pros and cons. You don't need to be told.
