Closed PLDT FIBR LIMIT SPEED?

Hello po mga ka phc, nagtataka lang po ako sa ISP namin na PLDT dito sa lugar namin, Dati po kasi nung nagpakabit kami consistent 5mbps pataas yung download speed, plan po namin is 5mbps. Then may pumunta po na service man na PLDT samin, parang may ginawa po sila sa router namin, then after po nun naging 2.5 mbps na po yung download speed namin. Napansin rin po namin na marami na pong nagpakabit na PLDT na kapitbahay namin.

Possible po ba na may binago po sila sa settings ng router namin para ma limit po yung download speed? Kasi po triny ko naman sa speedtest, kung ano po yung result nung 5mbps speed dati same rin naman po sa 2.5 mbps, pero sa actual download test po nagkakatalo (downloading files) as in consistent 2.5mbps, di na po tumataas. Baka po may same problem rin po gaya samin? Salamat po mga Ka-PHC.

That's probably not fiber, that's probably DSL.

Nakita ko po nung installation sir fiber optic po gamit, tsaka wala naman pong antenna silang nilagay solo fiber optic wire lang diretso sa router sir.

Eto po yung sample speed test ng pldt namin mga sir

Then eto po yung actual download speed nung nag download ng sample file

lagi pong 20mbps sa mga speedtest, pero yung download speed consistent 2.5mbps

ah... that's megabytes per second (MB/s or MBps) yan ang scale of measurement na ginagamit pag nagda-download. Whereas ang scale na ginagamit ng mga ISP at mga speed test websites ay megabits per second (Mb/s or Mbps).

1 Megabyte = 8 Megabits
1 Megabit = 0.125 Megabyte

So, 2.6 Megabytes per second = 20.8 Megabits per second.

Calculate the conversion na lang or use any megabyte to megabit (and vice versa) converter that you can find in Google.

iba ang unit of measurement yung ginagamit ng speed meter ng phone mo iyan ay megabytes per second (Mb/s). Yung sa speedtest at sa testmy.net atbp, ang gamit naman ay megabits per second (Mbps).

Difference between Mbps and MB/s​

A MB per second (MB/s) is a non-standard unit for network throughput, often used due to its convenience since most file sizes one works with are in usually expressed in byte-units: KB, MB, GB, etc., and not bit-units like kbps and mbps. A MB can be defined in the binary and the decimal convention, as described above.
