Expiry date yung nasa label, though.
Consume before o best before date ba nakalagay o talagang expiry date?
You're missing the point of the question. May mga "goods" kasing pwede pang kainin past certain dates on certain labels, e.g., "best before" o "consume before".Pwede pa yan.
Makes sense.if safe pa iyan it would defeat the purpose of expiry dates
Agreed. When in doubt, don't risk it.
Nope. Foods in trash are exposed to bacteria and oxygen compared to your steam cooked vacuum packed tikoy. They go bad faster..You're missing the point of the question. May mga "goods" kasing pwede pang kainin past certain dates on certain labels, e.g., "best before" o "consume before".
di kasi sa lahat ng pagkakataon ay yung microorganism mismo ang nagko-cause ng sickness, sometimes it is the chemicals they produce (like in the case of tetanus)Nope. Foods in trash are exposed to bacteria and oxygen compared to your steam cooked vacuum packed tikoy. They go bad faster..
Nakabili na rin ako ng ganyang tikoy at kinain ko kahit more than 2months expired na. Prito mo lang with egg, okay na
Most of the microorganisms got killed during steaming and vacuum packing removes oxygen to prevent bacterial or mold growth.
"How Long Do Rice Cakes Last? Properly stored, unopened rice cakes will last for 1-2 years past the printed expiration date. Once opened, if stored correctly in an airtight container, they will last for about 1 week. If not stored properly, opened rice cakes will only last a few days."
Yup. But steaming kills most of the microorganism so they can't produce toxins. And I'm sure they have other food preparation techniques to eliminate other heat resistant food pathogen.. if not, then di na aabot ng 3 months yang tikoy nila. Few days or weeks lang at marami na sana na food poison.di kasi sa lahat ng pagkakataon ay yung microorganism mismo ang nagko-cause ng sickness, sometimes it is the chemicals they produce (like in the case of tetanus)
steam cooked and vacuum sealed only slows down the growth (meron pa din activity yung microorganism) to extend quality of food and for how long is determined in the expiry date
so i would say there is a very good reason bakit andiyan ang expiry dates, your body has tolerance anyway but still health is at risk maybe not now but eventually in the long run
nope, steaming only kills most of it, some variants can survive temperatures higher then steam, at yung iba is mga residual spore which is a piece of gene that eventually develop into a single cell, so no, it would take for the food to be burn altogether if we want to kill allYup. I'm not saying to ignore the expiration date though on other food items especially dairy, meat, poultry or egg products. Etong tikoy lang
Steaming does kill or inactivate the vegetative cells of the bacteria or microorganisms that could make people sick. (There are microorganisms that survive boiling temperature but many of those does not make people sick. Yogurt and your intestines have bacteria). What survive is the heat resistant spores and this needs to germinate first before it could produce harmful toxins.nope, steaming only kills most of it, some variants can survive temperatures higher then steam, at yung iba is mga residual spore which is a piece of gene that eventually develop into a single cell, so no, it would take for the food to be burn altogether if we want to kill all
if one spore successfully germinated does it spoil the food right away?Steaming does kill or inactivate the vegetative cells of the bacteria or microorganisms that could make people sick. Vacuum sealing and refrigeration helps to inhibit the spore growth. And if it did successfully germinate, It will show signs of spoilage, di makakapagclaim yang manufacturer ng 3months expiry kung contaminated yang product nila ng heat resistant bacteria lalo na at yung ibang binebentang tikoy nakadisplay lang sa store at exposed sa ambient temperature
High temperature isn't the only way to kill/inactivate the heat resistant spores. FDA and those in the food industry are well aware of this and food processing technologies to inactivate the pathogen have been developed for decades.
Yes but not noticeable if it's just from one cell. It will become noticeable once the bacteria multiply.if one spore successfully germinated does it spoil the food right away?
I'd say yes, it is contaminated already since bacteria double every 4 to 20 minutes. Kung yang bacteria mo nagdodoble every 4 minutes, yang isang cell mo pwedeng maging 35 trillion cells na in just 3 hours (assuming optimal growth condition)having one successfully germinated spore is not yet contamination?
ayan naman pala bakit mo sinabing mangangamoy spoilage if undetected naman pala sa manufacturer level at saka bakit mo din sinabing di makapaglagay si manufacturer ng expiry if contaminated when obviously kahit 1 surviving cell ay naglagay pa din siya ng expiryYes but not noticeable if it's just from one cell. It will become noticeable once the bacteria multiply.

Actually, di ko gets yung ipinupunto mo. Please elaborate
