Microsoft has released an “optional hotfix” update, KB5031445, for Windows 10 version 22H2 as part of its “Type C” ρá†ch release. Windows 10 KB5031445 doesn’t bring any new features, but it brings forth crucial enhancements for Windows 10 22H2. This update addresses issues such as internet connectivity, rectifying touchscreen malfunctions, and restoring the usability of Outlook on Windows 10. Here is how to download and install the new Windows 10 build 19045.3633 on your device.
Microsoft releases regular updates for Windows devices, known as ρá†ch Tuesday updates. These updates are categorized into “B,” “C,” and “D” releases based on the week they are launched. “B” updates, released on the second Tuesday of the month, are particularly crucial as they introduce new security fixes. In contrast, “C” and “D” updates, released in the third and fourth weeks respectively, do not include new security updates. Notably, there are no “A” updates as Microsoft typically refrains from releasing updates in the first week of the month.

Windows 10 Build 19045.3633 What’s new?

Microsoft released Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.3633 (KB5031445) to the Release Preview Channel for those Insiders who are on Windows 10, version 22H2. This update includes the following improvements:
Daylight Saving Time (DST) Support for Syria:
  • This update ensures that Windows properly handles changes in Daylight Saving Time for Syria. This is important for maintaining accurate time settings.
Memory Leak Fixes:
  • This update addresses memory leaks in two specific processes, ctfmon.exe and TextInputHost.exe. Memory leaks can cause programs to use more memory than necessary, potentially leading to performance issues.
Touchscreen Behavior on Multiple Displays:
  • Previously, there was an issue where touchscreens did not function correctly when using more than one display. This update resolves that problem.
Printing with v4 Print Drivers:
  • An error related to printing using version 4 print drivers has been fixed. This ensures smooth printing operations.
Outlook Responsiveness Issue:
  • An issue affecting Outlook’s responsiveness when printing to an Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) printer with slow response time has been addressed. This means Outlook will no longer become unresponsive in this scenario.
Connectivity with Additional Network Interface Card (NIC):
  • This update prevents the loss of connectivity that could occur when adding a second network interface card (NIC) that didn’t have a default gateway defined.
Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) Profiles Update:
  • COSA profiles are configurations used by certain mobile operators. This update ensures that these profiles are current and up-to-date for specific operators.
Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) Policy Issue:
  • Some “allow” policies in Windows Defender Application Control might have been preventing certain binaries from running. This update addresses this issue, allowing those binaries to execute as intended.
robocopy Behavior Fix:
  • The /efsraw switch in the robocopy command was not copying data properly. This issue has been resolved, ensuring that data is copied correctly.
These improvements collectively enhance the performance, stability, and functionality of Windows 10 version 22H2.
