It's understandable that you're looking for solutions to help your teen son sleep better. While there are no specific vitamins designed to make kids sleepy, there are a few natural remedies and lifestyle adjustments that might aid in promoting better sleep. It's important to remember that it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional before introducing any new supplements or medications.

1. Melatonin: Melatonin is a hormone produced by the body when it gets dark, signaling that it's time to sleep. Some kids and teens may have difficulty producing enough melatonin, leading to sleep problems. Melatonin supplements can be helpful in regulating sleep cycles. However, it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional for proper dosage and usage recommendations.

2. Magnesium: Magnesium is known for its calming effects and can help relax muscles and support sleep. Foods rich in magnesium include nuts, whole grains, and leafy green vegetables. If necessary, magnesium supplements can be considered, but again, consult with a healthcare professional for proper dosage and guidance.

3. Establish a sleep routine: Creating a consistent sleep routine can greatly improve sleep quality. Encourage your son to follow a regular sleep schedule by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, even on weekends. Establishing a relaxing pre-bedtime routine, such as reading a book or taking a warm bath, can also signal the body that it's time to unwind.

4. Limit screen time: Excessive screen time, especially in the evening, can negatively impact sleep. The blue light emitted by electronic devices can suppress the production of melatonin, making it harder for your son to fall asleep. Consider implementing a screen-free period before bedtime to give your son's brain a chance to relax.

5. Create a sleep-friendly environment: Ensure that your son's bedroom is conducive to sleep. Keep the room cool, dark, and quiet. Use blackout curtains, earplugs, or a white noise machine if needed. A comfortable mattress and pillow can also greatly enhance sleep quality.

6. Encourage physical activity: Regular exercise during the day can help tire the body, making it easier to fall asleep at night. Encourage your son to engage in physical activities during the day, such as sports, bike riding, or even just going for a walk.

Remember, it's always important to consult with a healthcare professional before introducing any new supplements or making significant changes to your son's routine. They can provide personalized advice and guidance based on your son's specific situation and needs.
