Help How to Set up RDP in Azure

To set up RDP in Azure, you need to follow these steps:

1. Choose and set up a suitable virtual machine - When creating a new virtual machine, choose an image that includes Windows, configure the virtual machine's settings, choose a region, and select the storage account and virtual network.

2. Configure the virtual machine’s network security group – in this step, you will need to open the ports required for RDP access through the network security group.

3. Connect to the virtual machine through RDP – Once the virtual machine is set up and configured correctly, you can use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to your virtual machine. To do this, you need the machine’s public IP address, and the username and password you set up for it.

To connect to your virtual machine via RDP:

  • Open the Remote Desktop Connection client on your local device.
  • In the Computer box, enter the public IP address of your virtual machine.
  • Click Connect. A log-in window will pop-up.
  • Enter the username and password you set up for your virtual machine.
  • Click OK to connect to the virtual machine.

That’s it! You’re now connected to your virtual machine via RDP.
