If most of their long-time customers switch to the new ISP, they don't have a choice but to lower the prices of their Internet plans. Improving the services is a must or otherwise they would lose the competition. If our local ISPs could take advantage of China's current global political standing, the new ISP may not be a threat. There will be an election in a few years so a transition of administration is inevitable and likely a President-elect with anti-China foreign policy will win and could potentially scrutinize the new ISP due to direct link to the CCP.
