My life is a collection of twists and turns,
That set off terribly strange reactions.
I wouldn't know how or where I might be,
After ten or twenty years of inaction.
Maybe if I had buried myself in books,
And daydreamed or slept 'til September ends,
I'd be in my mystical land rainbows
A place free of problems and burdens.
Or maybe if I had drowned in my work,
And toilet away 'til my problems disappeared.
I would have ended up tired but assured,
That in the future, I'd live with no fear.
There were quite a lot of paths to follow,
And I'm not even sure I chose the right door.
I'll admit that the trek has been really long,
But it has changed me for the better, I'm sure.
I'm not quite who I want to be right now,
But I've come so far from who I used to be.
I am incredibly grateful and happy,
To have taken the road that suited me.
