Professors from Fujita Medical School in Chiba University performed a surgical experiment by moving a robot located in the National University of Singapore 5000kms away. The operation involved the removal of a cancer from a man-made stomach.

The two locations were connected by private internet. The professors checked the accuracy of the robots movement at high speed. The surgical professors said, "The experiment turned out well. There is about 0.1 second delay but did not became a problem once you get used to it". Fujita Medical School thinks that this will be a great help for performing surgical procedures in long distances and further advances the technology in medical care.
