dipende ts kung old yong pc/laptop mo kung new model yan at 4gb pataas ang ram mo useless yong laki ng ram mo sa xfce di mo rin magagamit 4gb ram mo sa xfce wala pa naman masiyadong ram hungry apps ang Linux mangilan ngilan lang kung meron man, tignan mo ram usage ng windows OS mas mataas pa compare kai gnome habang tumatagal ang gnome nagiging matino na ram management niya, kumbaga ang xfce is for old model like 2gb pababa na ram kaya why settle sa xfce diba? gnome eh parang sa mga new models na 4gb pataas ang ram although pwede parin ang xfce sa mga new models na pc/laptop kaya lang parang mai capping na yong performance hindi nailalabas ng xfce yong talagang performance ng new model na pc/laptop, yon ang tingin ko ts kasi nagamit ko na xfce at gnome kung ikokompara ko mas mabilis si gnome sa newer models na pc/laptop compare kai xfce pero kung old model siyempre sa xfce tayo di ba?

Xfce is not created for solely for older devices its goal is to provide the best balance of performance and aesthetics while using the least resource as possible. On the other hand GNOME is designed to utilize the full potential of your device which may cause exhaustion of resources for other programs to use.

Some people prefer to give more and prioritize available resources for the programs they use instead of the Desktop Environment. The difference is negligible though especially when your average use hardly uses the 50% of your machines full potential but when doing multi tasking and doing heavy processing jobs is another story. Xfce is hands down far better than Gnome in that department.

Not to mention that if you pair Xfce with the Compiz window decorator it transforms it into a Desktop Environment way fancier and functional than Gnome. Compiz which Gnome 3 does not support anymore unless you use the fallback mode or the classic Gnome.

tama mo po sir pero base sa observation ko eh mas okay para sakin si gnome Lalo na kung newer models na ang unit natin di ba? although mabilis parin si xfce sa newer models para sakin eh mas mabilis si gnome kung newer models na ang paguusapan. "intel i7 - 16gb ram - 120ssd" ito pala sample specs ng unit ko sir talagang sobrang bilis ni gnome sa specs ng unit ko sir compare sa xfce wala naman ako problema sa resources na nagagamit ni gnome sir compare sa xfce na talaga namang mababa ang needed na resources. hands down sa xfce sir maybe sa paglabas ng newer version ng xfce eh lilipat ulit ako hehehe
