Tired of annoying YøùTùbé ads on your Android TV?
Tired of annoying YT channel sponsored ads on your YøùTùbé ρrémíùm subscribed account on your Android TV? (Technically even with legit YT ρrémíùm subscription there's still ads on it!)
Want more features that YøùTùbé ρrémíùm does not offer even with ρrémíùm subscription?

Here's the answer:

SmartTube is an advanced player for Android TVs and TV boxes, free & open source. You can play content from different public sources.

✅ Features: no ads ‧ SponsorBlock ‧ adjustable playback speed ‧ 8k support ‧ 60fps ‧ HDR ‧ read live chat ‧ customizable buttons ‧ no Google Services ‧ helpful international community

❌ Disadvantages: no support for phones and tablets, no comments stability, voice search and casting support might be worse than in the official apps, depending on your device; give it a try!

Smarttube VS. Official YøùTùbé TV app

ST: No ads. Including sponsored ads in some content creators. ALL ADS ARE GONE with Smarttube.

Official YT: Annoying commercials/ads when you watch without ρrémíùm subscription. Even with YøùTùbé ρrémíùm there are some sponsored ads in YøùTùbé channels like from bigtime content creators.

ST: It has background play, screen off feature (perfect for playing music to save power), and picture in picture.

Official YT: No background play, no screen off feature and no picture in picture. With or without a YøùTùbé ρrémíùm subscription these features does not exist!

SmartTube requires Android 4.3 or above. It does not work on non-Android devices (incl. LG or Samsung TVs). On unsupported TVs, you can use a TV stick or TV box. Though this app technically runs on smartphones and tablets, it is not optimized for such and offers no official support!

It has been successfully tested on TVs, TV boxes and TV sticks that are based on Android, including:

  • Android TVs & Google TVs (e.g. Philips, Sony)
  • Chromecast with Google TV & TVs with Chromecast built-in
  • Amazon FireTV stick (all generations)
  • NVIDIA Shield
  • Skyworth Leap S1 / Strong Leap S1 (I've tested Smarttube on my Skyworth Leap S1)
  • TV boxes running Android (many cheap chinese no-name boxes) e.g. MXQ PRO
  • Xiaomi Mi Box
Not supported: Android smartphones, non-android TVs/TV boxes: (Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS , Apple TV OS)
