Internationally recognized praise band Planetshakers releases Christmas Vol 2 on Nov. 23. The second Christmas offering from Planetshakers features urban pop-infused recordings of the classics “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “The First Noel” alongside the worshipful soundscape “O Holy Night.”
Christmas Vol 2 also features Planetshakers worship leader Joth Hunt leading his declarative new song, “Light Of The World.”
“Christmas is all about Jesus. He is the reason we celebrate. It’s a time of joy,” says Hunt, who is also credited with producing and arranging the four-song EP. “But unfortunately for some, it can be a time of darkness. This song encourages everybody to remember that Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12). He brings hope to all!”
The new EP follows last year’s Christmas Vol 1 from Planetshakers, which features the original song “It’s Christmas” and the joyful, pop and R&B-infused “Hark,” “Joy To The World” and “Silent Night.”
Planetshakers also released its Heaven On Earth album and Heaven On Earth Part Three EP last month amidst acclaim. The recordings simultaneously became the No. 1 and No. 2 top selling Christian recordings respectively on iTunes in Australia while posting Top 10 overall positions in multiple countries around the world. Heaven On Earth has also been streamed well over 11 million times so far on just Spotify and YøùTùbé combined.
The “Heaven On Earth” title track, which was produced by Bryan Fowler (TobyMac, Chris Tomlin) and Micah Kuiper, is further garnering airplay at radio, becoming Billboard’s No. 1 most added song on the USA Hot AC/CHR radio charts for two consecutive weeks.
Heaven On Earth was recorded during Planetshakers Kingdom Conference held in Melbourne, Australia this past April at Hisense Arena and at its regional conferences attended by tens-of-thousands in Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
Sharing the new music from Heaven On Earth along with favorites like “The Anthem,” “Endless Praise” and “Nothing Is Impossible” while on tour, Planetshakers Band recently wrapped up its events in Central, South and North America, South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea and Taiwan. Next up is Nigeria and the Philippines before circling back to Malaysia and a tour of Australia.

In addition to the songs from Planetshakers’ acclaimed Heaven On Earth Part One and Part Two, the full Heaven On Earth digital album includes five additional tracks from Part Three, which also releases Oct. 19. This final installment of the Heaven On Earth trilogy features the title track, “Overcome It All,” “Rivers (Live),” “Through It All (Remix)” and “Nothing Is Impossible (EDM Remix).”
“Whenever someone thinks of heaven, they are filled with visions of the most perfect world. Not only is heaven a destination that all Christians are looking forward to, but Jesus encouraged us to pray for His kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven,” says Sam Evans, Planetshakers Senior Worship Leader and Creative Director. “It is our passion and desire that your faith, prayers and expectation be stirred to join with ours as we sing this song together – ‘Heaven On Earth!’ Let our hearts be stirred once again to believe God and that this world would see the true manifestation of God’s kingdom through His people and His church everywhere.”

A tangible, intentional expression of worshippers collectively pursuing the presence of God, Heaven On Earthhighlights worship leaders Sam Evans, Joth Hunt (who also produced and mixed the album), BJ Pridham, Rudy Nikkerud, Chelsi Nikkerud and a full team of musicians, dancers and more.
Many of Heaven On Earth’s songs were also broadcast live from America’s largest faith-based television network, Daystar, into more than 180 countries worldwide during Planetshakers Kingdom Conference.
Together with the CD, the 10 videos on Heaven On Earth’s DVD each share a live, multi-camera visual experience. The recordings capture the gathering’s dynamic atmosphere seasoned with singing, call and response, dancing and shouts of praise. The first eight of these videos have also already been streamed more than 4.1 million times on YøùTùbé alone.
