The pìrâ†é Bay is not down: All Four Active Hydra domains suspended by Registrar
World’s premier torrent website, The pìrâ†é Bay suffered some serious hiccups today when the Registrar suspended 4 TPB domain name.
ThePirateBay.la, ThePiratebay.gd, ThePirateBay.mn and ThePirateBay.vg were suspended by their registrar, alongside several other TPB related domains. All the four domains have been suspended, meaning once the DNS entry updates have propagated, they won’t work for you. Instead, you will get a generic error, such as “This webpage is not available” in Chrome and “Unable to connect” in Firefox.
The good news is that ThePirateBay.se still works. This decision could have a huge effect on TPB as thepiratebay.se is under litigation and TPB could lose that domain name as well. Last May the Stockholm District Court ordered the pìrâ†é Bay’s .SE domains to be handed over to the Swedish state, a decision which is currently being appealed. TPB had purchased alternate domain names to deal with any eventuality in case .SE domain name is lost.
However, with today’s suspension of the 4 out of the 6 alternate domain names, TPB would have to push for other domain names.
This morning ThePirateBay.la, ThePirateBay.gd, ThePirateBay.mn and ThePirateBay.vg were all listed as “clienthold” by the registry and the same is true for several other official TPB domains including those using the .FM, .SH, .MU and .TW extensions. This means they are
