A lot of people admit to learning new things during these times of the COVID-19 pandemic. For Kapuso actress Kris Bernal, acquiring new skills has helped her a lot, especially those that have something to do with her business and housekeeping.
Bernal answered some questions from her fans and subscribers in her latest YøùTùbé vlog, posted on Sept. 2. Her boyfriend, businessman Perry Choi, joined her in the episode.
When asked about what new skills she learned during the pandemic, Bernal said “a lot.”
“Marunong na akong mag-video editing ng mga vlog ko so nakatipid ako doon,” she started off. (I already know how to edit my vlogs so I was able to save on that.)
She also learned how to cook, something she’s grateful for because it was her boyfriend who shared with her some of the recipes.
“Little by little, tinuturan din ako ni Perry na magluto so may mga natutunan din akong simple dishes. Pero mga simple and basic lang,” she said.
(Little by little, Perry taught me how to cook simple dishes. But these are just simple and basic dishes.)
Bernal admitted she’s also learned to do some household chores by herself.
“Alam ko namang gawin pero mas gets ko na how everything goes at home, kung ano ‘yung mga kailangang ayusin, kung ano ang mga kailangang i-improve,” she explained. (I know how to do [these chores] but now I already understand better how everything goes at home, what needs to be fixed, what needs to be improved.)
But what she was most proud of is acquiring new knowledge about her online cosmetics business.
“Siguro mas nagkaroon ako ng time na tumutok sa mga kailangan pang ayusin sa SHE Cosmetics. Before wala akong time to really understand international shipping pero ngayon (ay) naintindihan ko na siya. Nakakapag-ship na ako internationally,” she stated. Her cosmetics business was launched in December 2018.
(Maybe I was able to have more time to focus on the things that needed to be done for SHE Cosmetics. Before, I did not have time to really understand international shipping but now I already understand it. I am now able to ship internationally.)
“Nagkaroon ako ng time to really understand what is really going on, the ins and outs of online business,” she added. (I was able to have time to really understand what is really going on, the ins and outs of online business.)

Bernal also enrolled and participated in “online classes about marketing, growing your business during this pandemic, [and] how you can maximize your time na nasa bahay ka lang (while you’re just at home).”
“Actually, ang dami ko talagang natutunan this quarantine,” Bernal stressed. (Actually, I really learned a lot during this quarantine.) JB
