How to Root Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1
NOTE: Make a backup of all your data including msg, contacts files, images etc.

A. Download Tools

B. File Preparation

1. Install the ADB Driver in your PC
2. Install Asus Driver in your PC and reboot it
3. Unzip Unlock.zip and you will get Unlock folder
4. Rename twrp-3.2.1-1-20180518-X00TD.img to twrp.img
5. Now copy paste the twrp.img inside the unlock Folder

C. Enable USB Debugging,

1. Enable Developer option- Goto Settings > About phone > tap Build Numbers 7 times.
2. Enable USB Debugging- Goto Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > USB Debugging and enable it.

D. Unlock bootloader of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

1. Shut down your phone
2. Now press Volume up and Power button simultaneously to enter Fastboot mode;
3. Connect your phone to PC using USB cable.
4. Run unlock.bat in the unlock folder
5. It will automatically unlock the bootloader.
6. The phone will automatically boot up. This process will format your phone
7. Once it boots up just config your phone

F. Install TWRP Recovery in Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

1. Shut down your phone
2. Now press Volume up and Power button simultaneously to enter Fastboot mode
3. Now connect your Phone to PC via USB cable.
4. Open the Unlock Folder.
5. Inside the folder, hold “Shift” Key then right click and select “Open command Windows here”.
6. The Command prompt will open.
7. Now run the below command. If driver properly installed it will show your device with some alphanumeric character
   fastboot devices
8. Now its time to flash TWRP, so run this command (Make sure twrp.imgfile is present in the ADB folder )
   fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
9. Once the flashing process has completed switch off your device

F. Install Magisk and Root Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

1. Copy paste Magisk.zip and decrypt.zip file in your phone external memory card
2. Shut down your phone
3. Now press Volume down and Power button simultaneously to enter TWRP Recovery mode
4. You are now on TWRP, it will ask password just tap on cancel and the swipe to allow modification
5. As the internal memory is encrypted just mount or browse external sd card
6. Browse the decrypt.zip file and flash it. (It will decrypt internal memory)
7. Now go to the main menu of TWRP. Tap on Wipe then tap on Format data
8. Tap on Wipe then tap on Format data and type yes to format
9. It will take few seconds. Once it done just tap on back to go the TWRP menu
10. Now tap on Install
11. Browse the Magisk zip file and swipe to Install
12. Once it has done. Go to TWRP main menu
13. Once it has done tap on Reboot >>System
14. The booting process may take 5 to 10 minutes.
