Try going into the settings of inputstream.adaptive in settings->add ons->my addons->videoplayer inputstream->inputstream.adaptive->configure and set the maximum resolution to 720p, maybe HBO will work then.

HBO should work now. I tested on Android and it was failing when using adaptive. I had adaptive on that channel because it opens faster and works better but it won't work with Android for some reason, so it's now turned off.

Yes you can change the setting back to Max now if you want, that stream does not use adaptive anymore. Should even work on 1080p.
