Hello! It's great that you're interested in reading the Bible. While there are differences between Catholic and Protestant versions of the Bible, it is definitely okay for you to continue reading the Protestant version you bought. The core message of the Bible remains the same across different translations.

However, it's important to be aware that there are some variations in the books included in the Catholic and Protestant canons. The Catholic Bible includes several additional books known as the Deuterocanonical books, which are not found in the Protestant Bible. These additional books include Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach (Ecclesiasticus), Baruch, and parts of Esther and Daniel. So, if you're interested in reading these books, you may want to consider getting a Catholic version of the Bible in the future.

In the meantime, you can certainly read and study the Protestant version you have. It will still provide you with a wealth of spiritual guidance and insight. Just remember to approach it with an open mind and seek guidance from your local Catholic church if you have any specific questions about Catholic doctrine or teachings.

May God bless you on your journey of reading and understanding the Bible!
