Overseas credit card usage in the first half of this year(2015) has reached the highest in the history. According to statistics released by the Bank of Korea, the average amount of overseas credit card usage per day between January and June was 28.6 billion, which is 21.7% higher than the same period last year. And this number is the biggest since the history of statistics. This, of course, can be from increased duty-free limit per person since a tax law revision in 2014, but don’t this derive from the intensified gap between rich and poor? People who can’t afford to travel abroad don’t even think going, but even if they do go, they don’t spend to the point where they benefit from raised duty-free limit. From this, we can see that the gap between rich and poor is becoming a cause of the economic problems in South Korea
