DID YOU KNOW?
A cow gives nearly 200,000 glasses of milk in a lifetime.
The average dairy cow produces about 200,000 glasses of milk during its lifetime. The milk that a cow produces is very nutritious, but it also requires a lot of water. The average cow drinks about 25 to 50 gallons of water per day, or approximately the equivalent of two bathtubs full of water. Then, she must drink more than a gallon of milk every hour.
The average cow in the United States produces about 460,000 gallons of milk in her lifetime, or nearly five thousand gallons. A single cow can produce this much milk over her entire lifetime.
Depending on the breed, a cow can produce between 53,000 gallons or nine semi-tankers of milk during her lifetime. However, the average UK dairy cow only produces around 8000 litres of milk per year and has just under four lactations.
