Talagang ganyan sa computer chess, depende sa klase ng tournament, hardware na gamit ng bawat panig like opening book + NNUE ng new SF engine/clones, time control at iba pang utilities na ginamit sa tournament ...anything goes. Yang JCER (Jurek
Chess Engines Rating) rating list ay gumagawa ng tournament on equal grounds for all chess engines except lamang sa NNUE. Sa TCEC rules medyo mahigpit ng kaunti sa NNUE usage, kung aware kayo. You need to read more on their site. Sa Open/private tournament ay iba, like noong panahon ni Rybka, one to sawa ka sa gagamitin mo like yung hardware na ginagamit na GPU clusters ni Alphago ngayon at mga refrigerated cluster CPUs ni Deep Blu/Cluster-Rybka, unlimited database, dual-engine in some cases....
PS. ang tip ko lang to make a strong competitive book. Mix your strong collection of analyzed pgn games from high-end "engine vs engine" matches with top grandmaster games. You just need to find the right ply (half-move) to keep in your book

May command line guide naman yung polyglot to customize how to make a bin book manually + your customized preference on how deep it creates the lines. Yan yung preferred ko noon pa. You also need pgn tools like Scid, pgn-extract, etc... to filter your games and prepare your database before bookmaking or else, you'll end up with a corrupted book or errors during building. The bigger the book, the bigger the ram needed. You'll know when you experience it.
Ito yung pack na kailangan ng bookmakers begore building:

It's all up to you how to use these few tools...and there's still more!
PS. ang tip ko lang to make a strong competitive book. Mix your strong collection of analyzed pgn games from high-end "engine vs engine" matches (not blitz games) with sets of analyzed top grandmaster games/correspondence chess games - human chess game with variations na di ginagamit ng mga chess engines. Yu can use them as is or add it to your book with your own variation (based on extended engine anylysis) and it will make a difference especially kung naglalaro kayo sa playchess. You just need to find the right ply (half-move) to start a new variation in your book. The Gambit lines and not so common eco lines are the best to experiment - moves that your opponent might not be prepared yet!
Goof luck po.
