The Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus) holds the title of being the largest mammal on Earth. These magnificent marine mammals can reach lengths of up to 100 feet (30 meters) and weigh as much as 200 tons (approximately 181 metric tonnes). Despite their massive size, blue whales are filter feeders, primarily consuming tiny shrimp-like animals called krill.
