Beware Of Scam/Spam Text Messages Containing Malicious Links

I received an SMS earlier containing a phishing link and here are some actions I have taken.

First thing I did is to report the number to NTC, SMART, and Globe before posting it on Twitter and Facebook. Globe responded to my Twitter post but since they doesn't seem to care much, I take actions on my own, at my own risk.

I accessed the URL on the SMS [MY-BDO-MOBILE.ONLINE] using incognito with my Kaspersky on to check the website. I was then re-directed to a different website [You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.] that looks very similar to the BDO login page.

I searched these domain's WHO.IS data via Google Domains, and take a screenshot of the information I needed.

I then sent an email to domainabuse@tucows.com and registrar-abuse@google.com before calling Google Registrar Abuse Contact Phone +18772376466 to have my report be marked as urgent. Luckily Pinoy din yung nakausap ko over the phone and he assured me that it will be marked and be treated with utmost urgency.

Sa mga may natatanggap na text messages gaya nito, take actions as well if confident kayo na kaya nyo. It will help others din kasi I noticed that the fake BDO domain was just registered recently.

Nakakalusot pa rin sila. Kahit nga may kaspersky SMS filter ako nakakalusot pa rin sila sa inbox. Siguro dahil kagagawa lang talaga ng domain nila.

Eyyy.. paki-report na lang din paps para mabawas-bawasan kahit papaano. At para aware ang network providers natin na hanggang ngayon ay meron pa ring ganyang issue.

nung may trabaho pa ako may nare reciv din akong ganyan pero napupunta sa spam messages ko lang kaya diko pinapansin pero sa kasama ko nireplyan nya ng "wala akong bdo account wag kayong makulit" tapos hindi naman nag reply ulit yon... ingat na lang talaga sa mga ganito pero papano naman yung may mga bdo acct talaga kawawa sila .. good thing idolo at nai report mo agad .. salamat din dito sa info para maging aware mga kasama nating may acct sa bdo o sa iba pang banks

kudos sa pag report mo lodi soul calibre. useless at utter failure parin ang sim registration kahit ngayon nakaka recieve parin ng scam messages.

sabi ko na nga ba eh, kahit na may sim reg pa madami parin ang mga scammer kasi hindi lang naman thru txt ang mga yan pati emails nakapanloloko din sila eh... ang hindi nila alam mas mautak mga scammer lalo na at thru online process na ang lahat mas madali na para sa kanila ang manloko kahit kapwa pilipino
