I've been exposed to baking since May 2016 and I find it really therapeutic.

While I already know some basic baking principles, I must admit that I need to gain more knowledge about it.

To all my fellow bakers, hope you could share in this thread some useful tips, häçks, and secrets (if possible) about baking please!

Here's mine:

1) To make chewy cøøkíés, use bread flour instead of all purpose
2) To make moist red velvet cupcakes, use buttermilk, which is a mixture of milk and vinegar

Big thanksss!

I’m a fan of baking as well! But maybe not as passionate. I do it when I have someone special to bake for or when I’m bored. Hahahaha. So baka dapat I do it often so I don’t forget the tips and tricks. I found out Goya cocoa powder, although relatively more expensive than other cocoa powder, is very very tasty!

So happy to meet fellow bakers here! Baking is my therapy and just like you, I also find it exciting to bake for my loved ones especially during special occasions or milestone events.

My favorite cocoa brand to use in my brownies recipe is Dutchè. It's really very cheap but very tasty! But I also love Goya! Have tried using it before and perfect ang taste—not too sweet, not too bitter either.

Where do I get Dutchè? I should try it next time! Accesible lang din kasi ang Goya dahil meron sa mga groceries. Hehehe! I can’t wait to experiment different desserts. Weee

Hi! Diyan ako nagstart. I remember the days when I used to bake Maya brownies sa kalan pati yung meringue sa oven toaster na maliit. Simple joys of baking. Sana di ka magsawa.

Hello! Buttermilk is a mixture of Milk (I always use fresh milk or Evaporated) plus acid.

Here's the ratio:
150ml milk plus 10ml acid (vinegar, lemon, calamansi, lime)

Better if you let the mixture sit for 5 minutes until mag-coagulate yung milk, yung parang nagiging buo-buo. Tapos saka mo ihalo sa batter mixture mo

Sana nga po, kasi kukuha ako nang cookery NCII sa Tesda. Yung kinakakatakot ko lang kasi mukha akong adik na snatcher eh in short itsura yung parang gusto mong suntukin or dura-an.

Pero kung papalarin gusto ko tlga maging expert sa Argentinian and Texas steaks, Cajon exotic foods, Japanese Ramen at syempre authentic Italian cooking like Spaghetti at Pizza.

Good luck! Sana ma pursue mo yung passion mo for cooking.
