PAGASA said Lannie made landfall over Liloan, Southern Leyte at 7:30 a.m. and Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte at 8:00 a.m.

In its previous bulletin, PAGASA said Lannie also made landfall over Bucas Grande Island, Socorro, Surigao del Norte at 4:30 a.m. and Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands at 5:00 a.m.

Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains are expected over Visayas, Mimaropa, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, and Dinagat Islands until Tuesday morning.

Light to moderate with at times heavy rains may also be experienced over Calabarzon and the rest of Bicol Region and Mindanao.

Due to this, PAGASA warned of possible scattered flooding, including flash floods, and rain-induced landslides in areas that are prone to these hazards.

Strong winds with occasional gusts can be experienced in areas under TCWS No. 1 during the passage of Lannie that could cause up to very light damage to structures and vegetation.

The enhanced easterly flow north of Lannie may bring occasionally gusts of up to strong breeze to near gale in strength over Extreme Northern Luzon and the coastal and upland/mountainous areas of the eastern section of Luzon in the next 24 hours.

Moderate to rough seas over the coastal waters of the country especially in areas under TCWS No. 1 may be expected, PAGASA said.

“These conditions are risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions,” it added.

At 10:00 a.m., Lannie was located over the coastal waters of Maasin City, Southern Leyte with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1006 hPa.

It is moving west northwestward at 20 km/h.

The tropical depression has strong winds or higher that extend outwards up to 200 km from the center, according to PAGASA.

Lannie will move generally west northwestward over the Visayas archipelago until Monday evening or Tuesday early morning, when it is expected to emerge over the Sulu Sea and cross the Cuyo archipelago.

According to PAGASA, Lannie may make another landfall in the vicinity of northern Palawan or Calamian Islands Tuesday morning before emerging over the West Philippine Sea.

Lannie is expected to remain as tropical depression, with a possibility of slight intensification once over the Sulu Sea or West Philippine Sea.

By late Tuesday through early Thursday morning, PAGASA said Lannie will move generally northwestward over the West Philippine Sea.

Lannie may intensify into tropical storm by Wednesday early morning, according to PAGASA.

It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday morning. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
