Like its peers, Meta aggressively hired during the pandemic to meet a surge in social media usage by stuck-at-home consumers. But business has suffered this year as advertisers and consumers pull the plug on spending in the face of soaring costs and rapidly rising interest rates.
“Not only has online commerce returned to prior trends, but the macroeconomic downturn, increased competition, and ads signal loss have caused our revenue to be much lower than I’d expected,” Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said in a message to employees.
“I got this wrong, and I take responsibility for that.”

Igorot Stone Kingdom, which covers a 6,000-square-meter area of real estate, features a stone wall on the left side and a modern-day tower on the right side.
According to Magalong, the owner was earlier notified of the permit violations and was advised to comply with the requirements...

Many companies have also been forced to reduce the number of their employees due to the ongoing crisis in Europe caused by the Russia and Ukraine war, which has resulted in higher prices for goods and a steady rise in inflation rates throughout many countries. It is also worth mentioning that Twitter is one of the companies that also failed to survive the global economic crisis.
Elon Musk plans to fire 50% of Twitter's workforce, or 3,700 employees. The remaining employees will be required to work from the office full-time. Musk was forced to buy Twitter at a price of $54.20 per share, or $44 billion. It is believed that his purchase was overpaid because the company is no longer profitable.

WASHINGTON, Oct 31 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court began hearing arguments on Monday in two major cases involving Harvard University and the University of North Carolina that could imperil decades-old affirmative action policies that factor race into student admissions to boost Black and Hispanic enrollment on American campuses.
