Matagal ko na kasing na-test yang emulationstation app ni Peehjay. Di ko na matandaan yung pinaggagawa ko bago ko nagamit yan.
Emulation Station is the graphic and theme frontend while Retroarch frontend ang gamit nyan to play the retro-game engines and ROMs sa system. At kung titingnan ko yung retroarch.cfg ngayon ay naka-set siya to use some type of controller pad, na sa tingin ko ay XBOX One controller - correct me. Hindi kasi pang-keyboard yung settings kaya may ibang di gagana - as we are experiencing when it launches di ba? So ang best bet mo is to configure the key binding dyan para magamit mo ng mahusay sa umpisa using your keyboard, and then later on edit kung gagamit ka na ng external gamepad controller na meron ka.
Pero ang problema ay ito es_input.cfg at yang retroarch.cfg.
Yung una ay yung pag-navigate sa ES screen at yung pangalawa ay sa gaming kung sakaling kulangin yung key binding he he.

Kung matapang ka, delete or rename temporarily es_input.cfg. Ang setting kasi nyan is for 2 joysticks and keyboard. For some reason, di rin gumana sakin he he. Ito yung gamitin mong es_input.cfg.

Assuming you edited your retroarch.cfg or not, the normal way to start ES with RA is this:

2. click launch_portable.bat
3. use keyboard, click your game of choice, select and play!
Napilitan akong i-download to test. OK naman pero di ko na tinagalan at binura rin.
Normally ang ginagawa talaga sa una ay delete es_input.cfg tapos manual key binding. Tapos sa pag gusto mong baguhin yung sa retroach ay deleter retroarch.cfg ang manual key binding ulti sa UI. Kuha ka lang ng guide para mapindot mo yung tamang key sa "key task". Ito yung old and tested method ng ES at RA sa key mapping/binding.

(Ang Emulation Station version dyan is not the official since 2015 yung last release - last was 2.0.2a. I guess yang Emulation Station 2.7.4RP is the windows build of an old Retropie source code for raspberries. Better upgrade ES and RA para updated sila - yung meron auto-configuration or user friendly UI.
Ito kasi ay for users who are familiar using emulators with external controller of gamepads. Kahit ako ay hirap pag pack na gawa ng iba dahil customized yon for their own settings and hardware. Nasa user na yung option to adjust the settings. Ganyan lahat ng emulators noon. Kaya mas gusto kong ako ang nag-compile at nag-setup kaysa mangapa sa cfgs na galing sa ibang sources.
Eh emulator within an emulator pa yan, kaya complicated gamitin he he.)

Kung di mo makuha, gawa ka na lang ng Retroarch pack mo - less ES:
