According to workforce.com newsletter, on January 2007, an event happened whereby a Unified School District in Los Angeles flipped the switch onto a set $95 million system that was based on an SAP software which had been customized by the Deloitte Consulting. The purpose of the system was to replace the previous mishmash of an outdated technology via a straight-forward system for the tracking of earnings as well as issuing of paychecks for the close to ninety-five thousand teachers, principals, custodians as well as other Los Angeles employees. This however failed being attributed to: technology failures; inaccurate and conflicts in data from the old system; lack of proper employee training; and infighting and a lack of internal oversight in the district. This resulted in some teachers not being ρáíd accordingly, some being overpaid and some even having their names omitted from from the system. This set-back cost a year and thirty seven million dollars in damage repairs so as to iron out the issues. This ended on November 2008, whereby the district and Deloitte settled the inevitable dispute over the work. The contractor agreed to repay $8.25 million as well as forgo seven million to ten million dollars in invoices not ρáíd, so as to solve the problem.
