Good eve guys the thread is all about upgrade live walkman to ICS 4.0.4 and root it
1st:
In this post i want to show you how to upgrade live with walkman (wt19i) firmware to newest android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431) via offline update method. This june, live with walkwan receive an update for renewing the firmware to ICS via PC Companion (OTA). But some users reported negative issues after upgrading their phone via pc companion (e.g:lag, not smooth, face unlock setting not appear, etc).
You can resolve those problem (e.g: lag, face unlock dissappear, etc) with flash the firmware/update the firmware via offline method. I have tested this new ICS for a week. I feel this new firmware is very smooth, even more smoother than gingerbread stockrom. thanks for SONY for optimizing this rom.
For offline flashing you will need:

n some case this tool doesn't work on win 7(or other version). So? open the "device manager" on win 7. look at "SEMC HSUSB DEVICE" if there is (!) mark, its mean your device not detected properly. just right click the "SEMC HSUSB DEVICE" -->update driver software-->search automatically for updated driver software. win 7 will automatically search the driver it self (internet connection needed).
UPDATE!!! easy rooting toolkit v2
root live with walkman with easy rooting toolkit v2 on 4.0.2.A.0.58 firmware
well, after upgrading live with walkman latest firmware (4.0.2.A.0.58) the SU file is gone. Its mean you don't have super user access anymore. there is the way to root your wt19i using easy rooting toolkit V2. It works on latest firmware.

Extract the file and connect live with walkman to pc. then click the file "01-local-prop". follow the instruction.
Now flash your device to ICS 4.0.4 with flashtool like flashing tutorial above. but we make little change on setting, uncheck the WIPE USER DATA. (see step 4 when choose firmware).
after that, root the 4.0.4 From the Xperia-ROOT.rev3.zip file you downloaded earlier, open the file 02-push-root-files.cmd. then follow the instruction.
