Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has something big in store this February. After launching six models last year, the automaker is kicking off 2021 with the launch of the refreshed Innova. Better yet, everyone is invited to the digital launch happening this coming February 20, Saturday, on TMP's official Facebook page.
The refreshed Innova made its debut last October 2020. It was first officially launched in Indonesia following a leak prior from Vietnam. The Innova features a redesigned front end featuring new bumpers with more defined corners. There are also new slim and upright turn signals fitted to match the redesigned bumper. Toyota then moved the fog lights below the center intake, hidden in the black cladding.
Possibly the most noticeable change would be the new grille. It now has a design similar to that of the new Hilux and Corolla Cross, featuring slimmer and more horizontal slats. Headlights appear carried over from the pre-facelift model. New wheels have been fitted as well with a two-tone colorway. The rest of the vehicle, including the interior, is carried over from the pre-facelift model.
Will the Philippine-spec Innova look the same as the one launched in Indonesia? Well, we're not too sure yet. The teaser video released by TMP does show the relocated fog lights, so that's a good sign. Considering the Philippine-spec Innova is assembled locally, there might be some minor changes. As for the powertrain, it could be the same as the outgoing model.
Thankfully, we won't have to wait too long to know more about the refreshed Innova. This coming weekend, we'll know more. Stay tuned.
