If there's one car we're waiting for Nissan to reveal, or even just talk about, it's the next-generation GT-R. So far, we still don't know what the upcoming halo supercar will have to offer or when it might debut. There are also no signs of a prototype either unlike the Fairlady Z.

It seems, however, Nissan changed its mind and has revealed what the GT-R will look like in the future.

Meet the GT-R (X) 2050. Designed by Nissan intern Jaebum Choi, it gives us a glimpse as to what the supercar could look like in 30 years. No doubt, it has a very dystopian feel due to its design. You can still see, however, the GT-R signature design cues such as the quad circle taillights and V-Motion grille upfront. Originally a design sketch, Nissan Design America decided to bring the car to life as an official Nissan concept vehicle.

Though it might look big in the photos, the concept is quite tiny - measuring only 609mm tall and 3,048mm long. Unlike the current GT-R, this one is a single-seater only. What's even more interesting is how the concept works. The “driver” will first wear a "dockable" suit and helmet connected to cameras in order to see outside. Once inside, they will have to lie prone with their arms and legs splayed out to form an X. The reason for this, according to Choi, is so that the car feels like an extension of the body.

If you're wondering why we said “driver”, that's because the GT-R (X) 2050 concept is fully autonomous. However, it can somewhat be controlled via Nissan's brain-to-vehicle technology. It's also fully-electric because, in 50 years, internal combustion engines may no longer be existing in new vehicles as Nissan claims.

"JB has essentially envisioned a new mode of transportation that people could experience like clothes, "wearable," instead of a traditional vehicle "carriage". It is the kind of breaking-the-mold thinking that has always been encouraged here at NDA. We’ve been honored to help bring JB’s vision to life," said NDA vice president, David Woodhouse.

What do you think of the GT-R (X) 2050? Is this how Nissan's flagship supercar should look like and drive in the future? Let us me know in the comments.

Ako, sa tingin ko yung GTR nag mukhang gaming pc. 😂
