The Philippine tuner scene has long been a source of enjoyment and awe. Whether it’s stock cars built as rolling catalogs or aftermarket-“busog” builds, there’s one bound to catch someone’s attention in every Meet. But let’s not forget that there are some builds that no one would’ve expected to see, and this is one of them.

Ladies and gentlemen, the specimen you see here is not your typical Owner Type jeep – it’s busog in all the right places! No, we’re not talking about a simple engine transplant. This stainless steel jeep has a Honda F20C under the hood, plus a lot of JDM goodies that would make anyone say “Ginawa niya iyun?!”

The base platform is, as mentioned, a stainless Owner type jeep. That’s the pretty common bit about this build. In recent years, the sourcing of “performance” JDM engines has become difficult, so to find an F20C complete with the OEM transmission is already a gem. Add what the seller has declared as its original limited-slip differential, and you already have a high potential for this to be a track toy.

It doesn’t stop there, though. In keeping up with the "JDM, Yo!" lifestyle, the owner/seller saw fit to throw in a lot of OEM and Japan goodies into the jeep. A Walbro fuel pump, OEM Honda camshaft and crankshaft sensors, Tein coilovers, what appears to be a full Borla exhaust system, and what’s declared as JDM (and rare) 15-inch JDM wheels are all part of the package. Heck, even the horn is JDM: a Mitsuba Alpha Horn II. There are also some Momo parts thrown in for good measure. While the heart and transmission are “ulam” enough, all the add-ons are good appetizers or fitting desserts.

But what's most interesting is how this isn’t some chop-shop style build where people slap this and that onto a car and drive it out. If you took the time to look at the photos, you’ll see what looks like a custom undercarriage to hold everything together. Heck, did you peep the frame that serves as shock towers and holds the struts together with that thick “strut bar”?

Okay, so we can’t really tell with 100% certainty of the durability of the said frame, so if any of you have seen this in the metal, do let us know. A lot of thought and what we could assume was careful planning seem to have gone into this build, and seeing such effort is really refreshing thing, especially with the proliferation of “pwede na iyan” builds and conversions.

The kicker? The ad poster, Bryan De Guzman, posted its selling price at PHP 350,000.00. The reality? There is truth in his post about the engine and transmission plus LSD alone already cost that much.

The Caveat? You’ll really have to see this build yourself to see if it fits your needs, and ultimately if it’s safe for what you plan to use it for. For whatever purpose anyone decides to shell out that many clams, we hope you get your money’s worth, and that the goodies you get will see some action in a donor car, or ideally, in the same Owner jeep that they come in.
