Help Sino po dito mga mamaw sa Electronics? May question ako regarding sa Zener Diode

Nagets ko po ang kaibahan ng Zener Diode at ng mga usual na diode. The main difference is that, zener diode can operate even though na apply siya ng reverse voltage. Which is why daw it was used a lot in voltage regulations.
Ang question ko po is bakit po nag rereverse biased yung voltage? Anong purpose nun? Why not iset nalang into same polarity ang input voltage and the diode in a voltag regulator?
Can someone help po hahahahah, hindi ko maisearch sa google eh kaya dito nalang ako nagtatanong
 
zener diode pag naka forward bias(connect positive supply to postive pin sa zener diode tas negative supply to negative pin of zener diode) para siyang normal diode which is need nya lang ng (0.7volts) to allow current flow.... while in reverse bias( connect positive supply to negative pin sa zener diode tas negative supply to positive pin of zener diode) may tinatawag kasi na zener voltage(rating siya ng zener diode) example is yung zener voltage is 5 volts if mag apply ka ng reverse bias @ 5-200 volts constant na 5 volts yung zener diode while pag forward bias 0.7 volts lang kailangan nya.. voltage regulator is nasa 5-12 volts

ang purpose nyan ay mostly sa switch mode power supply na AC ang source or mga power inverter, kapag AC ay walang positive o negative o nag alternate ang positive at negative o kung sa oscilloscope ay may wave pattern at yun zener ang magpuputol doon sa wave pattern for smoothing o filtering - mas maintindiahan mo sa actual yan at mahirap illustrate dito.... kaya ang susunod na pag aralan mo dyan ang kamag anak nya na schottky diode
