Agree kung napanood lang nila yung mga massive riot tas may looting pag wala kang baril to defend (self & property) either manakawan ka or mamatay ka na ng di nadedefend sarili mo. Besides may mga pinsan ako na nasa US literal na madaming steps bago ka makakuha ng baril like license to carry, seminars na aattendan, psychological test at kung ano ano pa na para maging fit to carry ka ng baril. Yung mga gun violence is mga nangyayare jan is either hiniram, or binili via black market at di dumaan sa proseso.

Not really. Ang sabi nga ng mga gun ownership supporters, more guns will serve as a deterrant for criminals because it is a means for a law-abiding citizen to defend themself, not only from criminals, but also from abusive policing. It prevents a police from feeling like a king just because they have gun, gaya ng Pilipinas.

Though i am not exactly a gun support myself. Magsisilbi lang ang gun control law na false solution on fixing violence dahil ang ugat nmn ng problema ay ang mental health ng society. Deeply lacking ang US sa mental health facilities at kinukulong sila sa ordinary jail. Then in places like San Francisco, dahil puno na ang jail, pinapalaya nalang sila sa public. On top of that, it infringes the right of law abiding citizens.

If it was so simple to reverse, gaya mo, of course i agree to try anything. Pero ang problema, pag naipasa na as a law ang mga bagay, it will take equal or more effort para alisin. (Do you even remember a point in time na may batas na nireverse jan sa Philippines?)

Isa pang reason kaya hindi naipapasa yan, politicians use the opportunity in writing new laws to throw in something else of a different agenda. That is how senators and congressmen make their big bucks. Creating laws with hidden feautures that entails something else to benefit their lobbyist.

In short gingamit nila ang ignorance and fragile emotions ng mga tao sa mga social issues to pass this laws disguised as a solution to gun violence. They might have something to do with increasing the number of cases sa point of view ng public just to increase the pressure, who knows?

You should also watch out for the same hocus-pocus jan sa Pinas. Ang maingay na mga activist ay unknowing tools ng mga nagpapayaman na opposing politicians.
