Zero Motorcycles, the leading American manufacturer of electric motorcycles, has partnered with the Ayala Group’s Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. (IMI) in a deal expected to bring in $250 million in investments over the next five years.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) revealed that the project is projected to generate $65 million in revenues annually.
IMI, headquartered in Laguna, is renowned for providing original equipment manufacturing services to automotive, industrial, telecommunications infrastructure, medical, and consumer electronic companies.

As part of the agreement, Zero Motorcycles will subcontract some of its electric motorcycle assembly operations to IMI, including battery and motor assembly.
The DTI disclosed that Zero Motorcycles and IMI have agreed to a preliminary timetable to begin mass production of electric motorcycles as early as June 2023, with a new IMI-Zero facility set to be established in Laguna to fully assemble electric motorcycles for Zero’s European, Asian, and other markets.
