Radovan Forest
In the woods of Radovan in Romania there is an urban legend that tells of the ghost of a woman who haunts the forest for many years. Reportedly, the ghost woman was always roaming around the forest, disturbing the people who pass that way and then disappear.
Dozens of people, especially men, have drowned over time in Lake Fântânele of Radovan. Locals put numerous tragedies on account of the curse of a bride, who legend says that in the 1940s hanged herself in the forest surrounding the lake.
Her story has two versions: one, according to that a young Moldovan woman arrived in Oltenia with her family, would have committed suicide after her husband was beaten to death on the night of the wedding. After waiting for him dressed in a bridal dress, the news of his death made her throw herself into a fountain, but even after death she did not stop searching for her fiancé. That is why the bride would appear only in front of the cars run by unmarried young men
The second version says that she committed suicide after she was raped by a kulak that employed her.
This legend has survived since decades ago until now. The public will not forget the dark story of Radovan Bride. A sad story in which a girl never find her peace even after death.
The legend began in the 1940s, in which lived a beautiful girl named Ileana. In the spring of that
year, 17 year old young girl was leaving the village in Moldova to make money in Radovan,
Romania. She came to town with one of his sisters and then get a job at one of the houses in Marin Mitran.
When she first came on the scene, all the men struck by the beauty Ileana and immediately
wanted to approach her. However, Ileana has been determined to make money in that place and not think about the others, especially to deal with the men. All she knew was looking for was money, to help with her family troubling finances in Moldova.
After a long stay in Marin Mitran, Ileana seems to be the center of attention in that area. Some men never cease to want to approach her, but again, always rejecting them. At one point, the man she worked for began to like her. Ileana refused, and the man raped her.
Although denied Ileana, now she's not able to resist stigma against people. At that time, a woman who is *******t out of wedlock, and without a husband, is regarded in shame. Ileana unable withstand the shame she suffered.
Ileana left early from the house and toward the forest in Radovan. There she tied a noose around her neck and took her own life. A few days later, people in Radovan found her body dangling from a tree. They figured that Ileana did it because she could no longer withstand the disgrace. She didn't want to give birth to an unwanted child,
When the corpse Ileana, finally lowered and the police came examine the body, they decided to conduct an autopsy on her and find out whether she committed suicide because of it. Since then, the ghost of the young Ileana haunts the forest every night. Many locals, as well as drivers, who cross the area, reported that they have seen a ghost many times walking freely through the woods..
Locals say the passers are advised to move quickly and try to simply overlook any sound or appearance, otherwise the bride will lead them in the heart of the forest, from where they won't ever return.
