Log in or register now. by Android Headlines, Huawei filed multiple trademarks with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on May 24th, less than one week after Google stopped working with the Chinese giant. Of course, this could be purely a coincidence, but it may also mean the company is gearing up for the release of its own operating system.

In terms of the names that was filed, the listings cover ‘Huawei Ark OS,’ ‘Huawei Ark,’ ‘Ark,’ and ‘Ark OS,’ thus suggesting that Huawei’s Android and Windows alternative will be marketed as Ark OS. As usual, there’s no guarantee Huawei will ever use this name, but it’s certainly more appealing to global audiences than the ‘HongMeng OS’ and ‘Project Z’ names that are used internally.

At the moment, it’s unclear what kind of features Huawei’s operating system will bring to the table.
