Sino nakasubok ng hiking/camping dito??

share ko lang po checklist of must-bring items for 2-3 days hiking/camping.

-tent (water-proof is highly recommended)
-portable butane stove (not bigger than 10 inches) & 2 butane cans
-aluminum pot (stainless is the worst for cooking rice)
-jungle bolo/hand axe (lots of uses)
-handy jungle knife
-4-8 Liters drinking water
-roll of small plastic bags (electronic devices can be put in these if it rains, can be used in eating)
-1 plastic container (can be used as plate & cup)
-stainless spoon (for eating & cooking)
-food in can & uncooked rice (enough for how many days you travel)
-flashlight & extra batteries (water-proof is highly recommended)
-small first aide kit (adhesive bandage, sterile gauze, betadine, small ethyl *******, 2 stretchable bandages, cotton, anti-bacterial soap)
-at least 5m rope (can support human weight)
-extra shirt, underwear & shorts (preferably not water-absorbent and breathable)
-put all in a hiking bag with rain cover (45L capacity)

optional:
-lighters/flint (in-case your butane runs out)
-small cable ties (in-case anything snaps like sandals/bag straps, etc.)
-big plastic bag (can replace rain cover of hiking bag)
-raincoat (can replace tent if you don't have a tent, you can sleep in it too)
-sleeping bag (can replace tent)
-zip-lock plastic bags (can replace small plastic bags not as portable but much thicker)
-map and compass (if you do not want to walk on a trail/pathway)
-hat/cap
-deodorant (if bathing is not available within your trail)
-multi-tool
-chocolates/candies (constant source of sugar)
-wristwatch
-whistle
-spices for additional flavor of food
-flare gun (for rescue)

what to wear:
-easy to dry
-not water-absorbent (will not get heavy if gets wet)
-long sleeves (for protection)
-long pants (to avoid leg scratches)
-hiking shoes (breathable so that water will not be contained inside if gets wet)

remember:
-do not leave you garbage anywhere
-do not sleep very near a river
-be alert
-be concerned with your team (if you have)
-do not cut down a tree unless necessary (except branches)
-do not eat too much
-conserve water
-climb slowly but surely
-talking takes energy
-do not rest too long
-your knife should always be reachable when you need it
-listen to the surroundings

sorry for the long post, here is a chocolate cake :D

Make sure to read the "Leave No Trace Principle(LNT)" and practice it as you go hike/camp in the outdoors, if you think that this sport is for you, might consider take the "Basic Mountaineering Course" or search through google or search to social media. Mountaineering here in the Philippines is now popular. Enjoy the outdoor and Respect those who love the nature. Happy Outdoors mga Ka-PHc! Apir!
