The situation of a Filipino-American child who begs for money to support his family in Pampanga had gone viral on social media.
According to a report on GMA 7 news program "24 Oras", Johnsy "Tisoy" Melchor never knew his father, and he was the sole support of his mother and two half-brothers.
The half-Caucasian child's light skin was burned dark after spending several hours under the hot sun begging .
Several netizens were moved by Tisoy's story and they extended their help to the Melchor family, who made a public park in Angeles City their home.
Johnsy yearned to meet and get to know his American father.
However, his mother said she had not seen his father since before he was born.
"Hinabol ko po siya sa kanyang apartment na tinutuluyan pero, sa madaling salita po, hindi ko po siya naabutan. Gusto ko pong mahahanap, sir para po matulungan 'yung anak ko," Cynthia Melchor said.
The man who fathered Tisoy's younger brothers had also walked out on them.
As bad as things were, Johnsy would do what was necessary to support his family.
