Closed Browsing history nakikita ba?

Hi phc, yung kapitbahay namin nag alok ng 1k per month na internet, they also provide the router which is tenda f3. Connected yung router namin (tenda) using lan cable galing sa kanila (main router) papunta samin.

Tanong lang makikita ba nila browsing history or personal datas namin? Bothered lang ako baka nakikita pala nila using main router hehe. Please enlighten me maraming salamat pooo.

pwede siguro pero limited lang. crdking router with freshtomato firmware gamit ko. sa web usage ng isang ip add makikita ko websites na visited nya like fb etc. fb website lang ha pero kung ano ang tinitingnan mo sa fb ay hindi ko makikita. sa mga murang routers walang web usage logging so okey lang if pa connect ka sa kapitbahay mo.

Ang sagot dyan, it depends. Kung commodity hardware lang yung router nila (which you may not know), walang capability ito na mag-store ng logs. Pero kung enterprise-grade o custom router like pfSense then they can have the ability to see the websites you visited and your dns queries, lalo na kapag yung DNS mo ay yung router nila mismo.

Most importantly, kapag nakakita ka ng certificate error sa browser, NEVER make an exclusion unless kilala mo talaga yung destination.

Regarding your personal data, now that you are part of their network, depending on their skill level they have the potential to see your data.

Pero to ease your mind, alamin mo kung may IT professional ba sa kanila, i'm not talking about a newly-grad or someone with a couple of years experience. Kung wala, pwede na siguro.

In summary, it boils down to trust and hope.
