1. Make sure may interes ka sa Social Sciences and Political Science. Di biro 'yang pinasok mo.

2. Master your grammar. 'di pwedeng i-argue mo 'yang "grammar doesn't matter" na 'yan. Reality check tayo. Maraming English subjects ang HUMSS. More on think piece papers, reaction papers, essays etc. kayo. Wag kang petiks.

3. Make sure may pake ka sa Pilipinas.

4. Kalimutan mo ang hiya- hiya. Maraming public speaking 'yan, more on recitations pa minsan. Di ka uusad kung puro hiya paiiralin mo.

5. Bawal tatamad-tamad. Walang puwang ang mga tamad.

6. Be patient. Always.

7. May mathematics. Tama. May math yan. General math at Statistics and Probability. Kailangan alam mo pa ang basics ng math. Malaking tulong 'yun.

8. Review your basics in English.

9. Learn to argue in a sensible way. May debate 'yan. Written or Oral.

10. Ibasura mo 'yung mentality na "Madali lang ang HUMSS kaya dito na ako." Trust me, there is more to HUMSS than anyone can see.

11. During lectures, makinig ka. Minsan kasi, kahit di lalabas 'yan sa exams or quizzes, mapapakinabangan mo 'yun paglabas mo.

12. Dito mo matututunang mahalin ang Poetry. Kaya kung dati ka nang mahilig sa literature, keep going.

13. Familiarize yourself with the Past Presidents. Yung contributions nila, issues and history nila.

14. Know the 9 disciplines of Social Sciences.

15. Develop the habit of reading.

16. I advise you to read Article 6 and Article 7 of the Philippine Constitution.

17. Economics. If you hate Economics nung JHS (I hate it too before) learn to love it now while it's still early.

18. 'Yung three branches of the government. Familiarize yourself with it.

19. Mata-tackle niyo rin ang Article III ng Philippine Constitution which is the Bill of Rights. Ang laking pakinabang kapag alam mo ang mga karapatan mo.

20. Sa English for Academic and Professional Purposes niyo (either sa second sem ito) Mababangga mo ang Academic writing.

21. Fallacies. Ito ang pinakamasaya.
