What is the difference between the violence and s e x shown on TV and that described in the Bible? The references to s e x and violence in the Bible are written to instruct, not to entertain. (Romans 15:4) God’s Word records historical fact. It helps us to understand God’s viewpoint on matters and to learn from the mistakes of others.

In most countries where commercials are featured, the portrayal of s e x and violence on TV is not about instruction—it is about money. Advertisers want to attract as many people as possible, and se x and violence keep viewers riveted to their sets. The result: They will watch the commercials and buy what is advertised. Newscasters apply the principle: “If it bleeds, it leads.” Simply put, lurid stories—of crime, disaster, and war—get priority over news items that are less gripping.

Though the Bible documents violent acts, it encourages people to live peaceful lives—not seeking revenge but settling problems peaceably. It consistently promotes sexual morality. This is not the message that comes through in much of what is broadcast on television.—Isaiah 2:2-4; 1 Corinthians 13:4-8; Ephesians 4:32.

ah instruction pala yung na-record na pambo-boso hehe

at peaceful din pala yung stone to death hehe

why are we comparing tv sèx and violence with that of the bible?

The thread is about how séx and violence described in the Bible and how it shown in tv, my reply is in connection with his twisted opinion about stone to death (na peaceful daw) which is hindi naman yon yung sinabi sa last paragraph ng thread ..

Wala naman ako pagkakaiba makita. Both illustrates actions and consequences. Both can be used as a warning. Kahit nmn mga movies na ganyan, may deeper theology behind it.

Pag sinuri mabuti, both bible as a literature and modern movies would contain some of these character archetype.

When it comes to monetary gains nmn. The bible and pinocchio ay dalawa sa most sold books in history. I dont see the problem with that regard.

Dahil pangalawang beses ko na nabanggit ang pinocchio, lets compare the parallels between bible and pinocchio. (This is based on Jordan Peterson's analysis)
Parehas sila na mayroong "father and son" dynamic. Parehas sila nagpapakita na ung "son" nagsisimula sa lower form of being, na magdadaan sa mga pagsubok, in a form of temptation.

Nakatira tayo on earth. Hindi tayo nakatira on heaven. You know?
