“HCPI will continue its automobile sales and after-sales service operation in the Philippines, through the utilization of Honda’s Asia and Oceania regional network.”

The Santa Rosa manufacturing plant, which constitutes a capital investment of P1.9 billion, was established in November 1990, and began production operations in 1992. It currently employs 650 associates.

“Honda will continue providing highly attractive products to its customers in the Philippines and continue contributing to the local society, which has been an ongoing effort for the last 50 years since Honda was established in the Philippines,” the company assures.

Lumipat lang sila ng planta from cainta to santa rosa laguna. Dun na inaasemble yung mirage / g4 at l300 van

Another great achievement of the duterte's administration
How many BPO closed doors already? how many big companies leave the country because of his despicable economic politics? He is pushing the country to the drain and the dds cheer

Problema yun pag ginawa silang taxi, still di pa rin bebenta.

totoo yan kasi may nakwentuhan ako dati na meron siyang vios first car niya.

Higher excise under the Duterte administration’s tax reform program, which coincided with high inflation rates, had hurt demand for new vehicles. In 2018, vehicle sales fell by 16 percent to 357,410 cars, the worst full-year decline since the financial crisis in 1998, Campi data showed.

Honda, which used to make 120 cars every day, now makes only 18. Over the years, the work force had shrunk to around 380 workers, barely a shadow of the company’s glory days.

In the age of globalization, countries not simply compete with other countries, but also company subsidiaries in the same production network. Honda’s plant in the Philippines competes with its plant in Thailand.

Dahil sa train law. Pati na rin sa gastos sa kuryente. And the 1987 constitution. Foreign ownership of land dito.
Buti pa sa Thailand. Napakaganda ng gobyerno nila.

There is a combination of factors that make up that penalty, and it's best to compare how manufacturing in the Philippines differs greatly from the Detroit of Asia: Thailand.
The first is the infrastructure. They built things to support the economy, specifically exports. They built more infrastructure compared to us over the decades. The airports are bigger. There are more rail lines. There are more highways. There are more ports, and more efficient at that. The late King Rama IX oversaw many of these projects during his tenure, and he pushed for them.

Their operations and setup costs are lower. Corporate taxes are lower. The major parts suppliers already set up shop there, much more than ours, so there's no need to import. Minimum wages are slightly lower too. The companies (foreign as they may be) can actually own the land they put their factories on. Power costs are also reportedly lower; they have new power stations on the way, while we spent 30 years repaying an unused nuclear power station.

The government's processes are also reportedly easier to deal with. Visas are easier. Travel is easier. Permits are supposedly easier to process. Policies are geared to make it attractive for foreign investment, particularly in job-generating enterprises. And to think they had a military junta in charge of the government for a while.
